nick

My name is Nick Adorni, and I’m a driven and self-motivated designer and photographer equipped with an open mind and a hard working attitude. I'm currently seeking out an opportunity to put my creativity and skills to their best use, including challenging projects, interaction with impassioned co-workers, and the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table. I'm one who works well independently, but I have the ability to jump comfortably into any team situations as well.

I have a wide range of varied interests, including hockey, snowboarding, action sports, digital cameras, cars, travel, fitness, photography, cycling, theme parks, movies, music, eco-friendliness, and recycling. I'm doing my best to be a part of the green movement, which is something I believe everyone needs to start doing as well. I've been a hockey goalie since age 6, so if I ever seem a little off, you can probably blame it on the fact that I'm crazy enough to let people shoot pucks at me on purpose.

Currently, I'm based just outside of Orlando, Florida, and I'm currently open to requests for design and photography work. to request more information or a quote, please contact me via the above phone or email. Thank you in advance.

about this site

When designing this site (this is version 3), I wanted to keep things light on file size and use some new techniques I've learned over the past year. This site now uses CSS sprites for image rollovers, PHP to include a single header/footer file on each page, PHP for the homepage image rotators, tumblr microblogging integration, hand-coded css/html, and multiple javascripts for the twitter feed, homepage tumblr box, and image sliders in the portfolio section. I'd eventually like to build it off an a CMS like ExpressionEngine, but I need to change servers first. That's something for down the road.

This site is fully tested in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome (latest versions). Testing was done through Adobe Browser lab for IE 8/7/6, with results ranging from fully functional (IE8), a few bugs (IE7), to lots of bugs(IE6). So kids, stop using IE and get with the program. Designers everywhere appreciate it.
