I saw this on Aaron Draplin’s blog a few weeks ago, and finally got around to watching it today. It’s called AFOL: A Blocumentary, and it highlights AFOLs (Adult Fans of Legos) in the Pacific northwest. Draplin did the motion graphics on this, and the subject matter hits home (in a good way) because I loved Legos back when I was a kid. I think they’re not only great fun, but also a great tool which helps develop logic and creative skills at a young age. I know I use my knowledge gained from building Legos pretty often, and this video makes me regret getting rid of all my old Legos. And now I really want to go buy a huge bunch of blanks and start building something new. My feelings aside, check out the video, as it is very well done.
